Dr Nutrition LLC (“Dr Nutrition”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. We comply with applicable data protection and privacy laws in the jurisdictions where we operate, including the UAE Personal Data Protection Law.

2. Information We Collect

Account & Contact Information

• Full name
• Email address
• Phone number
• Shipping & billing address
• Internal User ID

Login options include Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, or a one-time verification code sent by Email, SMS, or WhatsApp.

Location Information (Mobile App)

If you enable it, we collect precise GPS location while you are using the app, to determine your delivery address and enable fast delivery services. You can withdraw this permission at any time in your device settings.

Health Information

To generate a nutrition plan or use our calculators, you may provide your weight, height, age, sex, activity level, and health goals, and, if you choose to share them, your dietary preferences, allergies, and relevant medical conditions. We generate derived values from this information, such as your body mass index, daily energy requirement, and macronutrient targets.

With your permission, the app may also read the following data from Apple Health or Google Fit:

• Steps and activity data
• Weight and body measurements

We use this data only to provide the features you request. We do not use health data for advertising or marketing, and we do not share it with any third party. You can withdraw this permission at any time in your device settings.

Photographs

If you use our meal-analysis feature, you may take or upload a photograph of a plate of food to receive an approximate estimate of its calories and nutrients. Providing a photograph is optional and always initiated by you. Section 4 explains where these photographs are sent and how long they are kept.

4. Artificial Intelligence and Automated Processing

4.1 Nutrition plans and calculators

When you request a nutrition plan, or use our body mass index, calorie, or macronutrient calculators, the information you provide is processed on our own systems only. It is not sent to any artificial-intelligence provider or to any other third party. A qualified member of our nutrition team reviews every plan before you are advised to act on it.

4.2 Meal photo analysis

If you use our meal-photograph feature, the photograph is transmitted over an encrypted connection to our own servers, and our servers then relay it to one of our third-party artificial-intelligence providers — OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google — which analyses the image and returns an approximate calorie and nutrient estimate. We may use any of these providers, and which one handles a given request may vary. This is the only feature that sends anything you provide to an external AI service.

• What is sent: the photograph and our instruction to analyse it. We do not send your name, email address, telephone number, account identifier, or any of your health information with it.
• Consent: we ask for your explicit consent before you use this feature for the first time, and you may withdraw it at any time in your account settings. The rest of our services work normally if you decline.
• Retention: we do not store the photograph or the estimate. The image is relayed for analysis, the estimate is shown to you, and no copy is kept in your account or on our systems.

4.3 Your right to object

Where a decision about you is made solely by automated means and significantly affects you, you have the right to object and to request that a person reviews it. Contact us using the details below and a qualified member of our team will review the matter personally.

5. Marketing Communications

We may send promotional messages via Email, SMS, or WhatsApp. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message, in your account settings, or by contacting us.

6. Cookies (Website Only)

Our website uses cookies to ensure functionality, analyze traffic, and improve user experience. Where required by law, your consent is obtained before non-essential cookies are placed.

7. Data Sharing

We share personal data only where necessary, and only with the categories of recipient set out below. Each recipient is bound by contract to protect your data to a standard at least equal to that described in this policy, and none is permitted to use your data for its own purposes.

8. International Transfers

Some of the service providers listed above operate outside the United Arab Emirates — in particular our artificial-intelligence providers, which process data in the United States. Where we transfer your personal data outside the UAE, we do so only where the destination provides an adequate level of protection, or under contractual safeguards requiring the recipient to protect your data to the standard described in this policy, or with your explicit consent, in accordance with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law.

9. Data Retention

• Account information, health information, and generated plans — while your account is active. Deleted when you delete your account.
• Order and payment records — 5 years, as required by UAE tax and commercial law, including after your account is deleted.
• Food photographs — not retained.
• Marketing preferences — until you withdraw consent, plus a record of the withdrawal itself.

10. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may:

• Access the personal data we hold about you, and request a copy in a portable format
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw your consent to marketing, location access, health app access, or AI-assisted features at any time
• Object to processing carried out solely by automated means where it significantly affects you, and request that a person reviews the outcome
• Lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office

11. Account Deletion

Mobile app users can delete their account directly from within the app settings. Website users can request deletion by contacting us. Deleting your account removes your account information, health information, and generated plans. Only the order and payment records we are legally required to keep are retained, for the period stated in section 9.

12. Security

We implement appropriate administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal data, including encryption of data in transit and access controls limiting who within our organisation can view your information.

13. Children

Our services are not intended for individuals under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. Our nutrition calculators and plan generator are for adults aged 18 and over and refuse inputs outside that range.
